Welcome and thank you for your interest in joining Altona Life Saving Club.
Whilst family membership applications can be lodged at any time throughout the year, the Nippers application process is a little different.
Due to the need to a large number of volunteers required to run the Nippers program, as well as mandatory ratios set forward by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), ALSC has implemented a cap on the number of participants we can accept each year in the program. This cap is not arbitrary, rather it is determined by the Nippers Sub-Committee based on the number of volunteers we have available. We will always take the maximum number of children we believe we are able to accommodate without compromising the quality of our surf education program.
During August each year, existing members are given the first option to renew their membership and confirm their place in this years' program - members have until 1st September to complete this process and still be guaranteed a place.
All new applications received prior to the 1st September are placed on a waiting list with places being offered in the order received from the start of September until the cap is reached.
We will attempt to provide some guidance on the cap during the course of September.
If you wish to become members of the club, the following instructions will let you know what you need to do.
If you merely wish to register your interest, please send an email to our Membership Coordinator Joanne Wicks at email@example.com
